Pit Bulls, No Lipstick

The Brown Pups are not sure what to make of Sarah Palin's comments last night about the "difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull." Having never met a hockey mom, they are assuming that these "hockey moms" must be cuddlebutts with insatiable lickers.

I will let the pups continue to believe that, because I'm sure they'd be shocked to know that there are people out there who continue to use their breed as a negative descriptor (attacking, vicious, unpredictable, etc).

Your dogs are right and smarter than most American people .. or politicians for that matter.

As I said in my other post, it bothers me so much that stereotypes for dog breeds (especially pit bulls) continue to be proliferated as adjectives to describe people or situations. Stereotypes suck .. but us humans continue to use them.

I can't stand it when people use a comparison to pit bulls! (Unless they said something like, as loving as a pit bull, or as cuddly as a pit bull, etc!) It truly goes to show that people are incredibly ignorant about what a pit bull is, and what they are actually like.
