Three Years Already

I feel like I would be a bad dog mom if I let the whole week pass by without mentioning that it was 3 years ago this week that the Brown Dog Dad and I lost our littlest best friend, The Great Cornholio. He is much missed, though BDD is pretty well convinced that he is living on in our lives as Probert. The similarities between those two are too unreal to be missed. The pet psychic that I saw last summer with Maizy also told me that Cornholio is still hanging around our family, though I think she meant as a ghost, not as a crazy brown pit bull. Either way, we love the little guy and he is in our hearts, if nowhere else.

awww, I lost my little Boston "Petey" three years ago too. I bet they're somewhere having a good time (although, Petey's good time was usually just laying around, and humping my Dalmatian).

It is amazing how quickly time as passed. We are lucky that there are so many people who remember little Cornholio fondly, even if they never met him.

It does never get easier. I was in the vet today picking up some things and an emergency pup was rushed in in the arms of his owner. The vet tech yelled into the back, "I need a vet in room 3 right now! There's a dog dying!" Not exactly comforting words and made me glad that Cornholio decided that his time to go was on a Sunday. I would have happily paid the emergency fee (which was kindly waved) to avoid a public spectacle about the end of my dog's life.
