Little Guy's New Crate

I have been extremely neglectful about posting! Probert turned 6 on Halloween and everyone else is doing great! Here's a picture of Probert in his new crate that Dan magically found in the garbage on the exact same day that I was going to buy Probert a new crate! Look how much he loves it! :)

Happy 6th Birthday, Wrigs!

Today Wrigley turned 6 years old! I can't believe he's lived with me for over 5.5 years. He's such a wonderful, joyful pup. Happy birthday, Wrigley Beans.

Guess who has 4 birthdays!?

Tomorrow is Probert's four birthday! I haven't decided how we will celebrate, any suggestions?

Here is a picture of Probert from when he was first adopted. The toy is his Ellie that he brought with him from the rescue. Um, until Wrigley de-stuffed Ellie. RIP, Ellie.

A Busy Week

It is a busy week for us this week in terms of anniversaries. Yesterday was both Justice kitty's (guesstimated) birthday as well as the 3rd anniversary of Probert's Gotcha Day! And today is the 4th anniversary of Wrigley's Gotcha Day! Glad to have them all in the pack and I am reminded every day of how much I love their furry butts.
Puppy Wrigley.

Puppy Probert.

A recent picture of how I can often be sitting while working on the computer: knees up, Justice sandwiched happily in my lap.

One Widdle Olds

Well, I am just squeaking this entry in, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADDY MAE! According to the papers that came with her when she was adopted, Addy is one year old today! As a treat, yesterday I took her over to Sirius Cooks where we picked up some goodies and the kind ladies there gifted Addy some home made dog ice cream (which she loves, but has barely put a dent in). Last night, the whole pack (including the cats, but not including the humans) feasted on home made stew and I swear Addy flopped onto the floor of her crate after finishing in a blissful food coma.

I can't wait to see what this year has to offer Miss Addy Mae. Life is great. :)

Happy Four Birthday, Wrigley!

We haven't had any birthdays around here since Maizy's Five Birthday in January, and today was Wrigley's! We spent some quality time tonight snuggling on the couch (he cut off all circulation to my right leg in the process), playing with the giant knot, watching playoff basketball AND hockey, and laying on the new dog bed that I picked up for $20 at Costco this week.

Happy four birthday, Wrigley Bean. I can't believe you've been with us for 3.5 years already. I love your big butt. And I love when you get your lip stuck on your toof.

Maizy's Five Birthday

This is how we always talk to the dogs: "It's you five birthday! Today you have FIVE OLDS!" And what a five birthday, it was. Nothing special, since we are dealing with some seriously cold temperatures in Chicago, but Maizy did manage to have SOME fun...

She read a magazine with her girl.

Found a comfy place to watch a movie.

Crammed herself into a too-small space and helped girl with some research.

Spent some reflective time alone.

And dressed up as "Our Maizy of Guadalupe."

All in all a great day!

Happy Three Birthday, Probert!

The day we met the wildman. At his foster home in Ohio.

When we adopted the dogs, we didn't know any of their actual birthdays, so all are "made up." Halloween seemed as good a day as any to celebrate Probert's birthday, and today he officially turns three years old! When we adopted him, he was 11 months old and had suffered some pretty serious abuse. He hasn't totally shaken his fear of strangers, but he gets braver and happier every day!

First night in his forver home.

Probert's first birthday. A (dog) pizza party with his brother and sister!

Probert on his first birthday!

A recent picture. Holiday-related doggie torture. I swear, he is so patient. Love this guy.
